Setup SVN server

disable SELinux

yum install subversion

yum install mod_dav_svn

mkdir /var/www/svn

chown -R apache.apache svn

cd /var/www/svn

svnadmin create papers

chown -R apache.apache papers

htpasswd -c passwd someone

modify /etc/httpd/conf.d/subversion.conf as follows:

   DAV svn

   SVNParentPath /var/www/svn

  

      AuthType Basic

      AuthName "Authorization Realm"  

      AuthUserFile /var/www/svn/passwd

      Require valid-user

  

apachectl restart

How to set network devices active?

After I install the FC9, the network device, i.e., eth0, always keeps inactive. I must manually set it 'active' in the system-config-network, but it will become 'inactive' after I reboot the system. 

Fortunately, I found out a solution about it on the FedoraForum. I guess the problem was cause by the conflict between NetworkManager and system-config-network. We could use the chkconfig the turn off the NetworkManager and then turn on the system-config-network. In particular, type the following commands:

chkconfig NetworkManager off

chkconfig network on

That's it.

VMTools的安裝

若使用VMWare安裝F9, 要記得安裝VMTools ( Main Menu -> VM -> VMWare Tools Install) , 在/media/VMware Tools 下有一個VMwareTools-5.5.2-29772.i386.rpm , 用rpm -i VMwareTools-5.5.2-29772.i386.rpm即可完成安裝.

酷音輸入法

F9採用SCIM做為輸入法平台, 然而內建的輸入法並無我所習慣的注音, 於是先安裝新酷音.
1. download and install chewing
yum install scim-chewing
2. kill all scim processes
ps aux grep scim
kill xxx xxx xxx xxx
3. start scim
scim &
4. setup scim for chewing
5. kill all scim processes again
6. start scim
scim &

要比較注意的是, scim切換中英文的設定預設也沒設定好, 需要手動設定一下

Fedora 9使用誌誕生
